Welcome! I’m an animal reiki practitioner, energy healer and acupuncturist who loves to work with animals and their people to create more wholeness, healing & balance in the household, herd or pack. I believe in the healing power of animal-human relationships and in the healing power of reiki.

I work with animals (and their people) in transition – whether the animal is newly adopted or adjusting to a new home, has received a new health diagnosis, is experiencing stress-anxiety-trauma-fear, or needing support for end of life or hospice care.

Animals are an integral part of our circle of life, partnering with us for companionship, work, therapy and fun.  Just like humans they can become imbalanced and need extra support to balance their vital energy.  Animal reiki, energy healing and acupressure can help to heal, restore balance, and nourish our animal friends during health issues, transitions, emotional stress, trauma and end of life.

Animal reiki strengthens your bond and deepens your relationship with your animals.  

All animal species are welcome! I offer equine reiki and reiki for cat and dogs, goats, sheep, bunnies, birds, racoons and more. I can work with animals in homes, shelters, rescue or rehab settings, barns, pastures and enclosures. Distance reiki can be sent anywhere. Each session is unique and highly personalized for your animal.

*Reiki, energy healing and acupressure do not replace veterinary care or behavior training, but can complement all modalities of care.

 

Animal Reiki for Health Issues

Reiki works on a deeper level to shift energy patterns related to health issues, and can be combined with acupressure for more specific treatment. Reiki can be used solo or in support of your regular veterinary care.

Animal Reiki for Behavioral or Emotional Issues

It can be frustrating, confusing and overwhelming when our animals are acting out, feeling stressed or fearful. Veterinary care and training are only part of the puzzle. Animals can hold trauma from their past, absorb energies from people and their environment, have difficulty adjusting to new situations, and can even be soul teachers for us. Reiki can help release negative energies, create calm & safety, and restore connection. Reiki can be combined with any veterinary or training plan or used solo to:

  • Calm separation anxiety or travel stress
  • Help reactivity, nervousness and fear
  • Release the effects of trauma or mistreatment

Animal Reiki for Hospice, End of life care, Euthanasia support and Grief 

One of the hardest things to do is say good-bye to a beloved animal companion. Animals provide pure unconditional love to us, and are an integral part of our life and even our soul’s journey. Offering reiki to them at end of life is a way to give them back unconditional love and healing, and to honor your sacred relationship.

  • Reiki can boost energy levels, increase appetite, and reduce discomfort for animals with terminal illness, so you can enjoy precious quality time and connection.
  • Reiki can help you prepare for the upcoming transition of your animal. 
  • Distance reiki can be scheduled for the time surrounding euthanasia to provide healing and comfort for everyone during the transition.
  • Reiki can help animals grieve the loss of another animal or human companion.
  • Reiki can help human companions to process grief after the loss of their animal companion.

Animal Communication

Information and messages may come through during healing sessions, and I will pass on any that the animal would like to share. I am trained in animal communication but my primary work is healing;  I do not offer stand alone communication sessions.

 

Reiki for Animal Companions & Caretakers  

Animal companions and caretakers give so much time, energy and love to their beloveds. Stress, overwhelm, grief and compassion fatigue can set in, making it difficult to stay present and healthy. Reiki can help you feel nourished, grounded, connected and replenished.

  • Grief & Loss of an animal companion

Hello & Welcome! My name is Lisa Desrosiers and I would be honored to work with you and your animal. I’m an Usui & Holy Fire Reiki Master and Certified Animal Reiki Practitioner with the International Center for Reiki Training, a Certified Energy Medicine Practitioner, and a Licensed Acupuncturist.  I’ve studied animal communication, equine & small animal acupressure and I tap into the power and wisdom of my Reiki and Chinese Medicine lineages in all of my healing sessions. 

 

I’m blessed to have so many animal companions in my life. I live with Kita the wonder rescue dog (who has been a big part of my reiki journey) and 2 senior kitties, and try to make new animal friends wherever I go. I volunteer at Windrush Farm, a therapeutic horse riding center, take horseback riding lessons, and am the reiki practitioner for a herd of dairy goats in Lexington MA. 

Sessions are available in person or by distance.

Distance Animal Reiki Sessions

Distance reiki sessions are just as effective as in-person sessions because reiki energy is not bound by time and space. Scheduling distance sessions is easy. We choose a time that the animal is not busy eating, exercising or working. During the session I’ll connect with the animal using a photo, and then email you a follow-up report.

  • Less stressful and safer for animals that are sick or injured, nervous, or difficult to handle
  • The animal can be treated from anywhere and stay in their home or natural environment.
  • Distant reiki can be sent to animals who are in a hospital or vet’s office, during a surgery or medical procedure, at a boarding facility, or while traveling.
  • Sessions can be scheduled for before or after medical procedures, travel, or other stressful events.
  • Distant reiki can be sent before or during euthanasia and the transition over the rainbow bridge to surround the event with healing love and care.

 

In-person Sessions

In some cases I can travel to your home, barn or pasture for in-person or live sessions with your animals. I’m based out of Medford MA.

  • In person sessions may be hands on or hands off depending on the comfort and safety of your animal.
  • I can incorporate reiki energy healing, Chinese medicine acupressure techniques, and tuning forks sound healing on acupressure points.
  • You and other animals are welcome to be present for the session.

 

Rates:

  • Distant Animal Reiki (~30 minutes) $50. Includes reiki healing session and email follow-up. Initial sessions for new distant clients are $75 and includes a 15 minute phone consult prior to healing session. 
  • In person Animal Healing (~45 minutes) $70 + travel fee may apply. Sessions can include reiki energy healing, acupressure or tuning forks. Initial sessions for new in person clients are $100 and includes a 15 minute consultation.
  • 48 hour cancellation policy. Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice will be billed at the full session rate. 
  • Single sessions are available but a minimum of 3 sessions is recommended to start.

What Is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese healing method that is based on the Asian concept of ki or life energy. Reiki is a gentle but powerful energy healing technique that can be offered hands on, hands off, in person or over distance to balance, improve and enhance vital life force energy. Reiki can be helpful for physical issues, to reduce pain and inflammation, release stress and anxiety, calm the nervous system and promote natural healing. Animals are naturally sensitive to energy and respond really well to reiki healing. 

 

 

What Is Acupressure?

Acupressure is the gentle stimulation of acupuncture points using light touch or pressure. Similar to acupuncture but without needles, acupressure can address a wide range of physical and emotional needs.  The acupressure points are the same on humans, small animals and equines – just the anatomy of each species is a little different. Acupressure blends well with hands on reiki for an even more powerful session.

 

What is Acutonics Sound Healing with Tuning Forks?

Acutonics is a gentle healing modality using sound and vibration applied to acupoints on or above the body to restore harmony, balance and well being. The frequencies of the tuning forks can break up physical, emotional and energetic tension and restore balance to the nervous system. Tuning forks can relax muscle tension, reduce pain & inflammation, relieve stress & anxiety, and regulate the flow of energy in the body. Some animal really love the vibrations of turning forks!
